As part of our vision to become the first call destination for all things arts & crafts in Nigeria, we at Crafts Village Nigeria™ officially announce the launch of the CraftsVillage® Academy.
The academy which was founded in October 2017 was initially focused on teaching vibrant young boys & girls on several creative skills especially handmade greeting cards making and other paper crafts skills. These are the core skills of our founder, Mr Olaitan Ogunbekun but over the years, he has recruited other creative artists & crafters to pass their knowledge down to the new generation of budding artists, hence the birth of The Crafts Village® Academy.
This Art & Crafts School in Lagos is an initiative of the Crafts Village Nigeria™ project to offer a go-to destination where young & intermediary people interested in learning different arts, crafts & other handicraft skills can easily enroll for classes, learn & start to make a living from the creative trade in Nigeria. Our Academy offers arts & crafts courses that cuts across all categories such as;
– Bags Making,
– Shoe Making,
– Weaving & Basketry,
– Paper Crafts,
– Knitting & Crocheting,
– Tie & Dye (Adire Making),
– Wood Crafts,
– Clay/Ceramic Art and lots more…
We also offer a facility that allows for skilled creatives, entrepreneurs or other arts & crafts practitioners to use our space as a co-working space, or to hold their trainings and other art related events.
One of the aims of the Crafts Village Nigeria™ project is focused on identifying & teaching Arts & Crafts as a source of livelihood for the young & intermediary people interested in starting a business from the creative trade as well as promote art & crafts as a form of fun activity which has resulted in the launch of The CraftsVillage Academy.
